Detox Smoothie

I over indulged on Thanksgiving Day but who didn’t? A few days later, and I am still stuffed.

The day after Thanksgiving, I did not want any food in my sight. Especially, meat, rice and potato salad. I was so over it!

If you are feeling like a stuffed turkey, or just a bit bloated, this detox is what you need. After doing this detox, I had the urge to eat food again but in moderation.

As much as I was happy to celebrate Thanksgiving, I am kind of thankful it’s over. Now I can return to my normal routine. Hey! make sure you continue reading to find out more on the best way to detox.

1. Ginger Tea

First thing in the morning, I start with a glass of ginger tea. Ginger tea helps me to fully digest all the healthy and crappy foods that I ate. The best way to add ginger to your detox routine, chop the ginger into small pieces. Then mash the ginger with a spoon and drop it in boiling water and wait for 5 minutes. Pour the ginger tea in a cup and squeeze a half of lemon. Let the ginger tea cool for two minutes before drinking.

2. Smoothie

These are my favorite ingredients to create a detox smoothie; kale, mango, pineapple, ginger, lemon and water. I had the smoothie for breakfast and lunch and a meat-less salad for dinner.

Detox Smoothie

This smoothie recipe is great to drink after Thanksgiving and whenever I feel like I have over indulged. It’s easy for me to get back on track after doing this detox regimen, just in one day.

3. Salad

Around 5pm I had a salad for dinner. I had 3 cups of arugula, 1 avocado, 4 cherry tomatoes, 1 cucumber with light balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

4. No Candy, Soda & Chocolate

Okay I know this is crazy! No candy, soda and chocolate. It’s only for one day! The point of detox is to get rid of sugar, unhealthy cravings and consume greens.

I have so many things to be thankful for! I am so happy I was able to spend Thanksgiving with my family!❤️

Do you guys have any tips on detoxing after you over indulge? Let me know down below in the comments! Remember, after you have completed your detox eat anything that makes you happy in moderation!

I love ginger tea, and I also make myself a glass of lime water to reduce the sense of being uncomfortable. It’s warm water and lime juice mixed together in 3:1 ratio.

I love your recipe for ginger tea, definitely will try it! I normally avoid ginger because of the strong taste, but I have read tons of its benefits so it would be my loss if I didn’t start to consume it regularly..
    Love your picture as well!

I’ve been meaning to detox but I didn’t want to buy any juices in the grocery because they can be expensive. I’ll probably try ginger tea soon! ♡

I understand things can get pricey. The good thing is this recipe only needs a few things. It’s inexpensive when you make it at home instead of buying the drink from the supermarket.

I’ve never done a detox like this, but I’m willing to try it! Ginger is just about the cure for everything, but you’re exactly right about its impact on digestion! 🙂
